If you see your card transaction status as “Processing” after making a payment, this is usually a normal part of the payment flow and does not mean the transaction is abnormal.
“Processing” means the transaction has been completed, but the merchant has not yet finalised settlement with the bank.
When you pay with a bank card, the bank will first authorize the transaction and temporarily freeze the corresponding amount for subsequent settlement to the merchant.
After the merchant initiates a settlement request from the bank, the transaction amount will then be finally deducted.
Common reasons include:
Some merchants only settle after goods are shipped or services are completed, so the transaction may temporarily show as “Processing”.
Settlement rules vary by merchant and usually take 1–7 business days to complete.
You can try the following:
You don’t need to worry about the “Processing” status. The transaction will be posted automatically within a few days.
In general, the merchant will send a transaction cancellation instruction, and the status will then change to “Cancelled”.
However, some merchants may not proactively send a cancellation instruction. In that case, your “Processing” transaction will usually change to “Cancelled” automatically after about 10 days, and the funds will be returned to your current account.
